AC/DC ROCKED MY EARS OF (literally!) + Great Concert Photos from my Brother

Was fortunate enough to be able to go to see AC/DC last night. My brother was also there on a press pass and took these AMAZING PHOTOS! see more at his flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/johnjoh/sets/72157610775642540/with/3084723779/

Let's just say the concert had a gigantic train, fireballs, cannons firing, a 150 ft. woman, anime, and my ears are still ringing a day later....

A Weekend Full of Favorite Things

Had a pretty busy weekend!

Friday, fairly busy day at work, then my band East of Western played a show at the Red Rock.

Saturday went for a quick bike ride (no photos), then went to our end of season "jamboree" for the soccer team my wife and i coach (the FLYING CHEESE NINJAS)

then went to run an Iron Chef competition through the community I serve at my church. The secret ingredient was apple, and the food from all 3 teams was A M A Z I N G ! and it was just a lot of fun. We had teams of 10-11 shop, cook, eat, and judge each others food.

Then Sunday (unphotographed) was followed up by church (the highway community), then lunch, then sunday soccer (a weekly pick up game i run), then a newcomers dinner for our church, then a photo group (again through my church) critique meeting (i had this one critiqued, because i had questions about how to make the skater POP more- any ideas), then frozen yougourt with friends.

Phew. A long weekend, but really good.

The New Ryan Adams- Cardinology

Been listening in on the new Ryan Adams & the Cardinals disc- Cardinology. Its a great record; as with most RA albums, the first listen was good- the second great- the third fantastic- the fourth ridiculous- the fifth.... you get the point.

Really enjoy Born Into a Light, and the first single, "Fix It." There's a really cool version of him doing a super cooled out mellow version of it that I almost like better than the full band version on the album (hat tip to fuelfriends.blogspot.com). Its from Ryan's visit to KUT in Austin, TX (public radio rocks!).
