Cheddar, Basil, Almond and Red Pepper Bread.
Wanting a little bread experiment, i took the Jim Lahey No-Knead Bread recipe and added some extra ingredients. I added fresh basil, chopped, and slivered almonds to simulate pesto and give a little crunch. I then put in a little red pepper flakes for some kick and some black pepper. Then, after forming the dough, i folded in chunks of tillamook cheddar. then, topped it off with more cheddar.
tasted pretty good- the small amount of red pepper gives a good kick and you can definitely taste the basil and get the almond crunch, though you don't see it in the bread. best part though is definitely the melted cheese on top!
