Great Blog Find: "My Boss Is Michael Scott | I'm Living In 'The Office'"

This blog is hilarious. I hope this guy never gets caught. But seriously, his boss IS michael scott. Found out about this from one of my seminary professor's blog. This is a post-modern world indeed.

My wife and i and some friends went on our annual camping trip to Lake Tahoe this past weekend. As always, we take food seriously, even when camping- actually - ESPECIALLY when camping. Camp food rocks if you just take some time and go for it.

This was our first meal here- grilled quesadillas with wood grilled flank steak, black bean salad, mexican crema, avacados, and an awesome orange salsa!

Credit goes to my wife and her sister, who did all the meal planning. i did the guy thing and grilled.

more to come!

CA: Stovetop Mac N' Cheese- never make box mac again (maybe)!

NEVER MAKE BOX MAC N CHEESE AGAIN (well, maybe)!

If you can grate cheese, you can make these!

This is from Alton Brown's Stovetop Mac and Cheese recipe. basically in the same amount of time it would take to make box mac and cheese, with just a *little* more effort, you can have much much better mac n cheese. this was seriously good.

I will say though, there is something nostalgic about box mac and cheese. and it is dirt cheap. the main difference was that the mac noodles are much bigger and you can cook em al dente. And you can use real cheese and choose your own cheese. mustard powder is a must and so is hot sauce in my book!

CA: Boudin Sausage @ a Birthday Party

CA_Boudin_Sausage_a_Birthday_P.zip (853 KB)

Sorry for my poor iphone picture taking skills, but this was awesome. the pics do not convey the pleasure my taste buds experienced at a my friend joce's birthday party tonight. my friend's husband, who is also my friend, is originally from New Orleans- his family brought some Boudin sausage from N.O.  It was GOOD, I had to blog about it! They also brought some deer that the father killled (not caught, killed with bow and arrow! amazing) to put on kabobs. nice flavor.

Boudin is a real soft loose sausage that has rice inside of it. It was Cajun obviously so it had a real nice smooth heat that wasn't spicy but left a nice warmness in your mouth for a while. The flavor was amazing and the texture was really good.

The picture below is from the interwebs- just found it, so i didn't take it.

If you ever get a chance to try it, TRY IT!

next is ettoufe!
